After two years in remission a recent bone scan test result came back as . . . Non-Hodgkins Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma. The cancer reoccurred in his neck, but there are signs that it is also now in his groin and is now to be at STAGE 3. Mikey has started super intense chemo treatments called I.C.E. The doctors have indicated that this type of chemo treatment will be both hard on his kidneys and also may affect his hearing. The doctors have also stated that they plan to do a stem cell transplant and plan to start harvesting his own stem cells now, for future treatment. |

After three weeks in the hospital as of 3:00 am this morning (May 7, 2009) the stem cells have started reproducing for Mikey. This is a big giant step J Forward! The Dr said Mikey will come off some of his medicines now and let the process of the stem cells Continue to reproduce. He could possibly come home as early as next week. He will then be in a 100 day quarantine, But he will be at home. Prayers are being answered every day. Thank you all!

Hello everyone,
Thank you for all your prayers and donated blood. Blood is in great demand right now and if it’s your time to give please don’t forget. J Today, Mikey went into the hospital for seven long days of constant chemo – I.C.E. on the 8th day after chemo they will try and start the stem cell transplant process. I spoke with Mike this morning and he told me don’t worry grandma once I get through this 7 days of chemo I hear it is downhill from there. This is all we know at this time…Please continue in your prayers because it is working….

UPDATE: March 2, 2009 The doctors were able to extract some cells from Mikeys bone marrow, for the stem cell transplant that is scheduled for this coming, Tuesday or Wed.. Monday, March 9th. Mikey is scheduled for surgery to put another port in his chest. This will be used for different things. Also, The doctors will be removing another module (just like the three modules that were in his neck) this one is located by his right groin. They have to be sure that he is cancer free to start the stem cell transplant. If every thing goes well on Monday, he will start the transplant, Tuesday or Wed. the long, long, long process to victory we pray!

transfusions. Blood can donated at any blood bank. Blood type does
not matter as Mikey will receive credit for each pint donated, which
