The regular monthly meeting of Palm Valley American Legion Post 233 was held 12-04-2008 and was called to order by Commander Don Mills at 7:00 pm.

There was a quorum present. Minutes from previous meeting was read and approved.

Our Chaplain Bob Nagel was sick and had to leave the meeting. Commander Mills talked about his service over the years and asked that he be rewarded.  Ric Smith then moved to nominate Bob Nagel legionnaire of the year for 2008/2009. Rod 2^nd, the motion was approved, there were no objections. The Adjutant was instructed to order the plaque.

Web site report was given by Roy and is attached to and made a part of these minutes.

Adjutants report, our membership goal for December was 75%.our official numbers for that month was 75.765%

The following names were presented for membership and approved.

Jesse R James, George Kunetz and William Carroll.

Pete, Roy, and Rod agreed to make phone calls.

Hutch gave the finance report and is attached to and made a part of theses minutes.

As a result of the house committee report Commander Mills ordered that profanity in the post will not be tolerated and that it will be stopped immediately. Every member is responsible for other members profanity within the post. He further said that this is a family oriented post and that we should act like it.

Rod gave the historian report, a recap of previous meetings. The report was approved as read.

Ric Kapeghian wants new flags for the meeting room. Don Mills moved to buy new flags, Ric Smith 2nd. Motion passed with no objections.

Ric Smith prayed  meeting was adjourned at 8:03 pm.
