General Membership Minutes, January 3, 2013

§  Commander Havekost called the meeting to order at 7:06pm.

§  Ceremonial opening by Cmdr. Havekost, prayer by Asst. Chaplain Garing.

§  Roll call of thirteen members present.

§  Minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted.

§  Guests, representing the ALA and ALR is Kathy Church, SAL has no one present.

§  Applications/transfers Kevin B. Hoot, transfer Post 316, new members Maurice Dittmer and Michael Powell, all paperwork in order, motion to accept all three applicants, seconded and passed.

§  Commanders report attached.

§  Finance report attached.

§  1st Vice Dorsey’s reported he is working on membership we are at about 93-94%. A delinquent list has been posted behind the bar and we are about 20 members short of our 100% goal.

§  3rd Vice Lilly’s would like to thank Dave (new member) for attendance at his first meeting and he reiterated that we need more members to attend.

§  Service Officer Lazenby reported assisting Department in interviewing a veteran who had applied for temporary financial assistance (TFA) and was successful in obtaining him the assistance needed.

§  ALA report, Kathy Church, report attached.

§  SAL no report, Sonny Kirkwood reported SAL finance report $6003. was provided to him.

§  ALR report, Kathy Church, report attached.

§  House Cmte. report. Sonny Kirkwood the new price increase will take effect on Monday January 7th . Drink price increases range between 25 and 50 cents. Drink chip audit process will also be implemented

January 7th.

§  Website report, Cmdr. Havekost, report attached.

Public portion of meeting concluded, since only legionnaires were now present, the meeting continued.

New Business

§  Dan Wortmann brought up recent damage to Pavilion, front door and door screens in both front and back. Dan spoke to member Dominic Giordano (SJCSO) who stated anytime we experience vandalism at the Post we should call the non-emergency number at SJCSO and make a report. Commander is looking into surveillance options for the future.
