Meeting Minutes, March, 2012

Meeting was called to order at 1906 hrs. by CDR Robby Bacom.

 

There was a quorum of 16 present.

 

CDR welcomed our guests to the meeting, SAL CDR Jeff Ward, Canteen Manager Diane Dorsey & Jim Long.

 

Chaplain absent. We had a moment of silence for respect to our troops.

 

ADJ O’Callahan read minutes from the FEB General Meeting, Motion by Roy Havekost, seconded by Dan Wortmann, minutes accepted as read.

 

ADJ O’Callahan gave report of 110% membership. New members: Shaw was read in and accepted, motion by Stu Lilly, seconded by Mark Dorsey & Clark was read in, motion by Roy Havekost, seconded by Jim Durnal.

 

1st Vice Commander gave a report on the status of another discussion he had with the Dept of Health and our septic tank issues. He offered & read his MAR reports, attached. He also reported on his Outstanding Award for Law Enforcement Committee in that the appointments are being made. Motion made by Don Mills, accepted by Wilbur Burnett, reports accepted as read.

 

Finance Officer-Absent

2nd Vice letter of removal from position was sent

Historian- Absent & No Report

Service Officer- Absent & No Report

Sergeant-of-Arms-Appointment being made for Outstanding Award for Firefighting Committee.

House Committee-No report

 

Financial Report was presented by the 1st Vice for review. Motion was made by Roy Havekost to include line items data on finance report re: Septic Tank Issues, seconded by James Durnal. Motion to accept Finance Report by Wilbur Burnett, seconded by Patty O’Callahan.

 

Roy Havekost read a narrative of his own utter disappointments with the lack of volunteerism at the post. That it continues to be a select few that the entire post relies upon. That we need new & old members to step up to the plate and assist more often. He asked to be excused, momentarily.

 

Jeff Ward a Pavilion Committee Report, motion to accept by James Durnal, seconded by Don Mills.

 

Wilbur Burnett stated he would continue to volunteer to assist with electrical work. Don Mills offered his help for projects needed, too.

 

Dieter Arnold discussed the need for us to be organized and a committee to be formed and kept up to date on the issues facing us re: septic tank and the Dept of Health. Patty O’Callahan offered to organize the committee and make arrangements for everyone to get together to see what steps are needed to move forward.

 

Diane Dorsey, Canteen Manager, discussed the need for Legionnaire volunteers & reiterated Roy’s status update on the septic tank.

 

American Legion Riders Chapter #233 Chaplain, Jeff Ward, gave a report regarding their status, motion made by Patty O’Callahan, seconded by Don Mills, report accepted as presented.

 

1st Vice CDR suggested that we reactivate the Past Commanders Club.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 2008 hours.
