General meeting Nov 01, 2007

11 officers and 6 members present.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read, motion by Dick S. and seconded by Ray W, minutes approved.

Membership report by this writer, presently we are at 86.61 percent with 46 more renewals needed for goal. The membership account transferred $52.00 into the general fund during October to cover repair expenses. One renewal reinstatement and one new member were read and approved.

First Vice – no report.

Second Vice – cooks are WIP

Finance report – Recap by Comdr for details as attached for building repairs, porta-potties and building permit. The bottom line is a great  job is being done with estimated completion before EOM.

House committee report discussed pricing for meals, fixed overhead, pull tabs, overpouring drinks and updating house rules.

Heather Andrews, senior service officer for St. Johns County gave a detailed report on all features of this important function for veterans. Nursing Home care, pensions, improved widow and children assistance, Veterans Council were among the issues discussed. Heather is available at the Sty. Johns County Service Office on South US just past the 312 intersection, phone 209-6160.

Chaplain – no report.

Service Officer - no report.

Comdr report included building repairs , Jim Durnal is now our G.C. for this project. 627 bulletins were actually mailed out for November. The Rod Stewart evening netted $345.00 plus $435.00 from food and bar. Tom Manuel has indicated interest in the cell tower project, he  is a former CDR Vietnam veteran. The parking lot surfacing is work in progress. The outside flag mailbox is now operational, flags are for sale through the office.
