The regular monthly meeting of American Legion Post 233 general membership was held on 11-06-08 and was called to order by Commander Mills at 7:14 pm.

Chaplain prayed, opening procedures were completed and minutes from the Oct meeting was read and approved.

Northern area Commander Joe Nolan was introduced. He asked us to participate in the American Legion / Sears Hometown Heros program. An opportunity to setup a booth at participating Sears stores, talk about hometown heros and solicit for members. A great opportunity.

Our 1st Vice Clen Ward will contact Commander Nolan to make arrangements to set up at the Avenues Sears location.

Patty gave the House Committee report. We need volunteers for thanksgiving to help prepare and serve lunch. Ric K., Stu and Randy volunteered. December events read and will be posted on the board.

The minutes from the Executive Committee meeting was read. A motion was made to approve the minutes. Their was no second.

Ric Kapegihan motioned to accept the by-laws as submitted. Rod seconded. A lengthy discussion followed and Commander Nolan told us that the votes cast by ballot represented a straw vote.

A call for the motion to be voted on was asked for on several occasions and when the vote was taken the motion passed. 13-10.

Prior to the adjournment Patty asked members Brian Mickley and Jim Wadley exactly what their interest in our Post is. They show up for meetings cause problems and go home, never do anything to help the Post, never show up at events and never drop in to see how things are going and are always negative. To date their has been no response.
