REGULAR LEGION MEETING — SEPT. 3, 2009

 

Commander Ward called the meeting to order at 7:03 PM

 

MINUTES- The Minutes of the August 6, 2009 meeting were presented by the Adjuctant.

Roy Haverkost motioned to approve, Steve seconded and it carried.

 

ADJUCTANT'S REPORT — Jim Ross read in 1 new member and 1 transfer. Steve motioned to accept/Rod seconded and it carried. Aug. 13 Bank Balance for Membership Fund was $4645.83 and $2612.83 was transferred to the General Fund per E-Board Approval. September 1, 2009 Balance in the Membership Fund was $2236.00. Steve motioned to accept Adj. Report/seconded by Roy and it carried.

 

FINANCE REPORT- Clen Ward handled the report in Dick S. absence. E-Board voted to keep $2112.00 from the current CD for Contingency and re-invest $7000 at 1.5% for 9

months in a rollover CD. IRS Audit is scheduled for Oct. 5, 2009 and the IRS will be chekcking finances and membership certifications. Roy motioned to accept and Steve

seconded and the motion carried to accept the report.

 

3rd Vice Report- Roy Haverkost reported that he will change and streamline the Newsletter and that authors of newsletter articles deadline is the 20th of the month.

Website had 795 visitors viewing 2180 pages in August. 18,235 pages and 7900 visitors during the past year. Ward's Landing Reunion page getting a lot of attention. Roy

announced $25 for business card advertising and will be on Newsletter and website.

All Volunteers should log hours on the service log. Patty motioned to accept the report and Dave seconded. Motion carried.

 

HOUSE COMMITTEE- Captain Ski's Golf Tournament and Fish Fry on October 31St to benefit autism with Pull Tab Donation of $350. World War II Veteran's Party will be Nov. 14th. Roy inserted that the National Commander be invited and open to all WWII Vets. Veteran and spouse to be free and all others $10. Frankie Martin Jr. will be the entertainment and it will be a chicken bar-b-que. Patty suggested Patton and Reagon speeches be aired. Cooking and cleaning volunteers are needed.

John Duffy — ROTC of Nease is having a drill meet and has requested $150 for Trophies.

Motion by Steve and seconded by Patty. Motion carried.

 

HISTORIAN — Rod Garing reported that recent event photos have been taken and can be viewed and will be bound.

 

TEMP FINANCE OFFICER- Rod Garing motioned that Dick Salzarullo be temporary Finance Officer/ Dave Jordan seconded and the motion carried.
