Meeting was called to order at 1905 hours by 1^st Vice Commander Roy Havekost.

Opening invocation by Chaplain Bob Nagel.

A quorum was present with 10 members present.

Adjutant Patty O’Callahan read minutes from Executive Committee Minutes & General Minutes from previous administration’s months that were just received. Dan Wortmann made a motion to accept; Wilbur Burnett seconded as corrected. Past Minutes accepted.  

Adjutant read the minutes from the current Executive Committee Meeting & General Minutes of August2011. Motion to accept minutes as read by Dan Wortmann, seconded by Jim Durnal. Current Minutes accepted.

1st Vice Commander Report:

·        Boy Scouts refurbishing the flag pole. He is meeting with Dick Base. Roy would also like for Post to select a Boy Scout of the year.

·        3-ring binder in the office of the House Committee Rules, as well as, on the web site. Also to be included are the By-Laws, National Constitution & By-Laws, ALAs & SALs By-Laws.

·        Thank you to Patty O’ for September calendars homage to 9/11 victims.

Historian Report:

·        Requested a moment of silence for the 9/11 victims.

·        And requested that we send letters to our Representatives re: mistreatment of Veterans.

Sergeant-of-Arms Report:

·        Veterans are veterans, no matter what their dates served; combat is what the VFW refers to. Legionnaires should not be held to that.

House Committee Report:

·        Roy Havekost reported on Hollywood nights event allowing Patty O’ $150 to purchase food to serve at event. Motioned by Wilbur Burnett & seconded by Jim Durnal. Payment passed.

New Business by Acting Commander, Roy Havekost:

·        Read a letter re: St. Johns County Homeless Veterans clothing drive by Elks Lodge. Motion to set up a box made by Patty O; seconded by Jim Durnal. Motion passed.

·        Read a letter re: St. Johns County having 450 years of military in St. Augustine event in five years. Motion made to table further discussion by Patty O; seconded by Jim Durnal. Discussion tabled.

·        Roy Havekost reported that Ralph Augenstein, WWII Veteran & member passed away.

·        Passed around the Finance Report. No discussion in the absence of the Finance Officer.

Wilbur Burnett requested Post #233 sponsor a hole for the SEP 12^th Masonic Medical Research event. Motion made by Patty O; seconded by Howard Alford.

Jim Durnal stated that we should always go out of our way to visiting posts & compared it to the great reception that was received at most of the posts that they visited on the recent bus trip with Post 233.

Chaplain gave closing prayer.
