It is with great Honor that I announce that the Patriot Guard Riders in Florida has been designated as the Lead Group for the Wreaths Across America 2009 at Jacksonville National Cemetery. The WAA Location ID # is FLJNC, our Group ID # is FLPGR002.

When setting up our Group ID it was set so that for two wreaths sponsored we receive three wreaths, three for the price of two. To maximize the number of wreaths that we have to lay for those who served our Country.

Many of you may be aware of the mission of the Patriot Guard Riders www.patriotguard.org, many American Legion members are also members of the PGR. This is the first year for Wreaths Across America at the Jacksonville National Cemetery and our goal is to lay a wreath at each Veterans grave. During the first week of March 2009 over 300 Veterans have already been laid to rest at the hallowed grounds of Jacksonville National Cemetery.

If your organization would be interested in the fundraising opportunity that Wreaths Across America offers please contact me, Dremwolf@bellsouth.net. for details. For every $15 Wreath Sponsorship, $5 will go back directly to your fundraising group. (from the WAA website 2008) This is a great option for groups such as the Boy and Girl Scout troops.

If possible I would like to leave materials at your post to let your members and fellow Veterans know about this program. If you are interested we can make a presentation at your General Membership meeting. Please feel free to call me at 904-778-3709 any time after 11:00am.

Before I close I want to thank Lt Col Dewey Painter of the Civil Air Patrol for what they started at Evergreen Cemetery and for entrusting the PGR to carry on what they started and to carry it forward at Jacksonville National Cemetery.

If you have any questions please contact me at Dremwolf@bellsouth.nett and please put Wreaths Across America in the subject line.

Thank you for your time,

Ride Safely,
